When bolting Freeman marine aluminum hatch coamings with stainless steel fasteners, aggressive galvanic action and severe thread galling can quickly occur. This ceramic barrier effectively isolates dissimilar metals, preventing electrolytic degradation and cold-welding while ensuring smooth disassembly during maintenance.
