The gasket serves as the primary barrier against water ingress and must endure severe compression, saltwater, and extreme temperature fluctuations. Here you will find Crosseven polychloroprene contact adhesive – the only approved bonding agent for Freeman closed-cell neoprene seals – alongside silicone care products and industrial wipes that maintain elastomeric flexibility and prevent winter freeze adhesion.
Mechanically remove old adhesive residues without gouging the aluminum. Degrease the gasket channel thoroughly using heavy-duty wipes.
Apply a thin, uniform coat of Crosseven adhesive to both the gasket base and the hatch channel. Allow to tack for 5–10 min before firmly pressing in.
Coat the sealing bulb with silicone stick 1–2 times per season. This prevents rubber dry-out and stops seals from tearing off during sub-zero freezing.
