The Freeman Marine Model 2727K (2427 Series) is a rugged, heavy-duty square deck hatch featuring a 27" x 27" (686 x 686 mm) clear opening and field-proven knife-edge sealing technology. Offering an extra-generous aperture, the Model 2727K provides comfortable transit for crew members wearing protective gear and allows smooth transfer of equipment, all while maintaining a smooth, trip-free flush deck profile.
Built around Freeman's commercial knife-edge sealing principle, an elevated coaming knife edge presses firmly into a durable hollow elastomer seal housed in the cover plate. This high-pressure sealing line guarantees 100% watertight integrity against heavy sea boarding and high hydrostatic heads. The lift-out cover plate can be lifted clear entirely, providing unrestricted overhead clearance in active working zones.
