The Freeman Marine Model 3636-HK (2468 Series) is the largest hinged square deck hatch in the Freeman 2400 Series, providing an expansive 36" x 36" (914 x 914 mm) clear opening. Designed specifically for primary engine room and cargo access where large machinery components, pumps, filters, and equipment must pass through, it integrates seamlessly into the deck with a completely flush profile to prevent trip hazards and withstand heavy deck traffic.
The heavy-duty integrated hinge keeps the large cover plate securely anchored to the deck coaming, preventing accidental closing in rough seas, structural deck damage, or uncontrolled movement. Featuring Freeman's proven knife-edge sealing technology, an elevated coaming knife edge seals tightly against a resilient hollow seal housed in the cover plate. This high contact pressure provides 100% weathertight and watertight protection against heavy green water and hydrostatic pressure. To meet demanding commercial marine safety requirements over machinery spaces, the Model 3636-HK is equipped as standard with an inside escape handle, enabling rapid emergency exit from below decks.
