The Freeman Marine Model 3030-HK (2466 Series) is a heavy-duty, high-capacity hinged square deck hatch featuring an expansive 30" x 30" (762 x 762 mm) clear opening and time-tested knife-edge sealing technology. Engineered for demanding commercial marine environments, it provides generous clearance for machinery access, cargo handling, and emergency egress while maintaining a flush, trip-free deck profile.
The heavy-duty integrated hinge keeps the large cover plate securely anchored to the coaming, ensuring safe, controlled operation in rough seas while preventing deck damage or accidental cover movement. Built with Freeman's commercial knife-edge sealing mechanism, a raised coaming knife edge embeds firmly into a resilient hollow neoprene seal housed inside the cover plate. This design concentrates dogging pressure along the knife edge to ensure 100% weathertight and watertight integrity under heavy breaking seas and severe hydrostatic heads. To withstand high mechanical stress across this large format, the Model 3030-HK is equipped with a heavy-duty stainless steel dogging mechanism. Recessed within the cover plate, the gasket is shielded from cargo impact and foot traffic.
