The Freeman Marine Model 2424-HK (2464 Series) is a rugged, heavy-duty hinged square deck hatch featuring a 24" x 24" (610 x 610 mm) clear opening and time-tested knife-edge sealing technology. Recognized internationally as the standard dimension for emergency escape and crew access, the Model 2424-HK combines maximum passage clearance with a completely flush profile that maintains a safe, trip-free deck environment.
The heavy-duty integrated hinge keeps the cover plate firmly anchored to the coaming, ensuring safe and controlled operation in demanding sea conditions while preventing accidental closing, deck damage, or overboard loss. Featuring Freeman's field-proven commercial knife-edge sealing design, a machined coaming knife edge embeds firmly into a durable hollow seal housed in the cover plate. This design concentrates dogging force into high contact pressure, guaranteeing 100% weathertight and watertight security even under heavy sea wash and severe wave impact.
