The Freeman Marine Model 2222-HK (2463 Series) is a rugged, heavy-duty hinged square deck hatch featuring a 22" x 22" (559 x 559 mm) clear opening and time-tested knife-edge sealing technology. Engineered for flush deck installation, it provides a completely level profile that eliminates obstructions and optimizes working deck efficiency.
The heavy-duty integrated hinge keeps the cover securely attached to the deck ring during operation, ensuring controlled and safe handling in rough seas while preventing deck damage or accidental loss. Utilizing Freeman's commercial knife-edge sealing mechanism, a raised coaming knife edge bites firmly into a resilient hollow seal housed within the cover plate. This concentrated pressure ensures 100% watertight and weathertight integrity against heavy breaking seas and high hydrostatic heads. Recessed inside the cover plate, the gasket is completely protected from impacts and wear when open.
