The Freeman Marine Model 3036-HK (2469 Series) is an extra-large, commercial-grade hinged rectangular deck hatch featuring a massive 30" x 36" (762 x 914 mm) clear opening and time-proven knife-edge sealing technology. Combining huge clearance with heavy-duty captive hinged operation, it provides the ultimate deck access solution for machinery rooms, cargo trunks, and emergency escape routes on commercial vessels and offshore platforms.
The heavy-duty integrated hinge keeps the large cover plate securely anchored to the deck coaming, preventing accidental closing in rough seas, structural deck damage, or overboard loss during operations. Freeman's knife-edge design concentrates dogging closure force along a machined coaming knife edge against a resilient hollow gasket housed inside the cover plate. This establishes an uncompromising 100% watertight and weathertight barrier capable of resisting extreme hydrostatic head pressures and heavy green sea washdown. Recessed within the cover plate channel, the seal is completely protected from dropped equipment and heavy foot traffic when the hatch is open.
