The Freeman Marine Model 1926-HK (2475 Series) is a heavy-duty, commercial-grade hinged oval deck hatch featuring an expansive 19" x 26" (483 x 660 mm) clear opening and time-proven knife-edge sealing technology. Combining generous oval passage with captive hinged operation, it serves as an ideal emergency escape hatch, crew manhole, and machinery trunk access point for personnel in bulky protective gear, while fitting neatly within longitudinal deck structural framing.
The heavy-duty integrated hinge secures the cover plate directly to the deck ring, preventing uncontrolled swinging, accidental closing in rough sea states, or overboard loss. Freeman's knife-edge design concentrates dogging closure force along a machined coaming knife edge against a resilient hollow gasket housed inside the cover plate. This provides an uncompromising 100% watertight and weathertight barrier capable of resisting extreme hydrostatic head pressures and heavy green sea wash.
