Vickerlube BIO LV WRL is a biodegradable, low viscosity wire rope lubricant from Vickers Oils, based on readily renewable and biodegradable base oils and formulated with a solvent component for spray application. The low viscosity allows the lubricant to penetrate between the strands of the rope and reach the core, providing complete rope lubrication. Once the solvent evaporates a high viscosity oil film is left in situ, protecting against wear and corrosion. The product is designed for applications where biodegradability is a requirement or an advantage, and where oil leakage may pose environmental risks. Suitable for both stored and operational wire ropes in marine and industrial applications.

    Description

    Article no.: BVO-25827

Vickerlube BIO LV WRL is a biodegradable, low viscosity wire rope lubricant with a solvent component for spray application and penetration to the rope core, based on readily renewable and biodegradable base oils. Applications: Wire ropes on quayside ship to shore cranes, container handling equipment including straddle carriers and reach stackers, marine deck and winch ropes, and all lifting and drag ropes in mining, construction, logging and bridge or waterway applications. Also protects stored ropes against corrosion. Benefits: Penetrates between strands and down to the rope core thanks to low viscosity and solvent component, leaves a high viscosity oil film once the solvent has evaporated, de-watering characteristics that displace moisture, corrosion protection even in saltwater environments, extreme pressure resistance, biodegradable and renewable base oil for lower environmental impact in case of oil leakage. Technical profile: Viscosity 23 cSt at 40 °C (diluted product), base oil viscosity 330 cSt at 40 °C, flash point 60 °C (SETA, diluted product), pour point below -66 °C (diluted product), 4-ball weld load >400 kgf, 4-ball wear scar 0.33 mm, copper corrosion 1b, rust test pass in both distilled water and synthetic sea water, density 0.88 g/cm³ at 15 °C, biodegradable and renewable, VGP compliant, shelf life 3 years. Pack size: 25 litre pails.
