Vickers Oils HYDROX EP 150 is an extreme pressure (EP) gear lubricant based on mineral oils, designed primarily for the lubrication of thrusters in auxiliary or main propulsion. The oil absorbs sea or fresh water that may enter the unit to form a stable emulsion that continues to provide lubrication and corrosion protection even when water ingress occurs. It delivers a very high standard of anti-wear performance for heavily loaded gears with high resistance to micropitting and scuffing, and is suitable where a combined gear and hydraulic function is required. Approved by the major seal manufacturers and verified by Lloyds Register.

    Article no.: BVO-10395

Vickers Oils HYDROX EP 150 is an extreme pressure (EP) gear lubricant based on mineral oils, designed primarily for the lubrication of thrusters in auxiliary or main propulsion. Applications: Thrusters in auxiliary or main propulsion, heavily loaded gears, and applications where a combined gear lubricant and hydraulic function is required. Compatible with the elastomers used for seals fitted in marine equipment. Benefits: Very high standard of anti-wear performance for heavily loaded gears, high resistance to micropitting and scuffing, absorbs sea or fresh water to form a stable emulsion that prevents free water, maintains corrosion protection during standing and start-up, good compatibility with seal elastomers, compatible with many other EP lubricants and can usually be added without special precautions, emulsifiable. Technical profile: Typical viscosity 150 cSt at 40 °C, viscosity index 102, pour point below −20 °C, density 0.90 kg/l at 15 °C, mineral-based, emulsifiable. FZG gear test passes load stage 12. Approvals/environmental profile: Tested by Class with stability, lubricating and corrosion protection performance verified by Lloyds Register (both neat oil and emulsion). Approved for use by the major seal manufacturers. Mineral oil based product, not an EAL.
