Vickers Oils NEOX 8000 sterntube lubricant

Vickers Oils NEOX 8000 is a mineral-based, emulsifiable, high-viscosity stern tube oil with a typical viscosity of about 370 cSt at 40 °C. It dramatically reduces wear to stern tube bearings in the event of sea water ingress and often minimises the rate of oil leakage past a damaged or worn aft compression seal. Applications: Compression seals and older face seals with non-circulatory oil feed systems. Not recommended for use with elastomer lip stern seals. Compatible with the metals commonly used in stern tubes. Benefits: Dramatically reduces wear to stern tube bearings in the event of sea water ingress, excellent lubrication in both neat and emulsion forms, absorbs sea or fresh water ingress to form a stable viscous emulsion that prevents free water, often minimises oil leakage past a damaged compression seal, compatible with common metals in stern tubes, emulsifiable. Technical profile: Typical viscosity 370 cSt at 40 °C, viscosity index 91, pour point 5 °C (IP15), density 0.9 kg/l at 15 °C, mineral-based, emulsifiable.
