Vickers Oils HYDROX 550 sterntube lubricant

Vickers Oils HYDROX 550 is a mineral-based, emulsifiable stern tube oil of viscosity grade ISO VG 68 (SAE 30) with a typical viscosity of 73 cSt at 40 °C. It is recommended by the bearing and seal manufacturers for regular running in the stern tube. Applications: Regular running in the stern tube and lubrication of some stabiliser models. Compatible with the elastomers used in lip seal systems. Benefits: Superior lubrication even when water ingress occurs, excellent wear and corrosion protection, compatible with common metals, absorbs sea or fresh water ingress to form a stable emulsion that prevents free water, maintains corrosion protection during standing and start-up, emulsifiable. Technical profile: Typical viscosity 73 cSt at 40 °C, viscosity index 100, pour point below −25 °C (ASTM D7346), density 0.88 kg/l at 15 °C, mineral-based, emulsifiable. Passes the SKF Water Emcor corrosion test. Approvals/environmental profile: Approved by the leading lip and face stern seal manufacturers. Tested by Class, with stability, lubricating and corrosion protection performance verified by Lloyds Register (both neat oil and emulsion with 20 percent water). Mineral oil based product, not an EAL.
