ECOSURE HSE 46 is an environmentally acceptable (EAL) high-performance hydraulic oil from Vickers Oils for heavy-duty operation. The oil is based on fully saturated renewable esters with state-of-the-art ash-free, zinc-free additives and is intended for critical below-waterline applications where there is a risk of oil leakage into the marine environment. The product meets ISO 15380 (HEES category) and the US EPA definition of an environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) under the 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP). Viscosity grade ISO VG 46.

ECOSURE HSE 46 is a biodegradable, high-performance anti-wear hydraulic oil (ISO VG 46) for heavy-duty operation from Vickers Oils, based on fully saturated renewable esters with state-of-the-art ash-free, zinc-free additives. The oil exceeds ISO 15380 (HEES category) and meets the US EPA definition of an environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) under the 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP).
Use: CPP units, stabilisers, ramps, deck equipment, certain thrusters and heavy cranes – critical below-waterline applications where there is a risk of oil leakage into the marine environment. Also suitable for high-pressure hydraulic and circulation systems in industrial, mining, marine and mobile applications. Operating temperature −35 °C to +100 °C, recommended for longer exposure to high temperatures.

Technical profile: Viscosity 46 cSt at 40 °C (ASTM D7042), viscosity index 151 (ASTM D2270), pour point <−35 °C (ASTM D7346), flash point >180 °C (ASTM D92), density 0.905 kg/l at 15 °C (ISO 12185). Oxidation: up to 12,000 h in ASTM D-943 DRY TOST and >800 min in ASTM D-2272 RPVOT. Pump lubrication Eaton 104C/35VQ – approved, FZG anti-wear > load stage 12, ASTM D-130 copper corrosion – approved, ASTM D-665 rust (fresh and seawater) – approved, ASTM D1401 demulsibility – approved, elastomer compatibility (Nitrile, Viton, Teflon, Nylon, PTFE) – approved. Shelf life 5 years in unopened original packaging, stored away from direct sunlight.
Approvals/environmental profile: ISO 15380 HEES category (synthetic ester), VGP EAL according to US EPA 2013, Swedish Standard 15 54 34, Eaton Vickers 35VQ and 104C, Parker Hannifin Denison HF-1, HF-2, HF-6. Biodegradable (>60% in the 28-day OECD 301B test) and assessed as non-toxic in the marine environment (Fish LC50 >1000 mg/l, Daphnia EC50 >1000 mg/l, Algae EC50 >1000 mg/l). Compatible with NBR1, HNBR and FKM, must not be used in systems with neoprene, butyl rubber or EPDM.
