Vickers Oils ECOSURE EAF 22 hydraulic oil
ECOSURE EAF 22 is an environmentally acceptable (EAL) hydraulic oil from Vickers Oils, based on renewable synthetic esters with state-of-the-art ash-free, zinc-free additives. The product is intended for deck equipment and other hydraulic systems where there is a risk of oil leakage into the marine environment, and is particularly suitable for equipment exposed to very cold climates. The oil meets ISO 15380 (HEES category) and the US EPA definition of an environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) under the 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP). Viscosity grade ISO VG 22.

ECOSURE EAF 22 is a biodegradable, anti-wear hydraulic oil (ISO VG 22) from Vickers Oils, based on renewable synthetic esters with state-of-the-art ash-free, zinc-free additives. The oil exceeds ISO 15380 (HEES category) and meets the US EPA definition of an environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) under the 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP).
Use: Typically used in watertight doors, ramps, platforms, davits, cranes, winches and deck equipment exposed to very cold climates. Intended for hydraulic and circulation systems in industrial, mining, marine and mobile applications where there is a risk of oil leakage into the environment. Operating temperature −35 °C to +100 °C.
Benefits: Extended oil life with fewer oil changes and lower total cost of ownership, improved lubricity that reduces wear and extends pump life, broad operating temperatures, good hydrolytic, oxidative and thermal stability, superior demulsibility (good water separation), good viscosity index and shear stability, good seal compatibility and long-term filterability, biodegradable and minimally toxic.
Technical profile: Viscosity 22 cSt at 40 °C (ASTM D7042), viscosity index 155 (ASTM D2270), pour point −60 °C (ASTM D7346), flash point >185 °C (ASTM D92), density 0.88 kg/l at 15 °C (ISO 12185). Oxidation: >330 min in ASTM D-2272 RPVOT. Pump lubrication Eaton 104C – approved, FZG anti-wear load stage 11, ASTM D-130 copper corrosion – approved, ASTM D-665 rust (fresh and seawater) – approved, ASTM D1401 demulsibility – approved, elastomer compatibility (Nitrile, Viton, Teflon, Nylon, PTFE) – approved. Shelf life 5 years in unopened original packaging, stored away from direct sunlight.
Approvals/environmental profile: ISO 15380 HEES category (synthetic ester), VGP EAL according to US EPA 2013, Swedish Standard SS 15 54 34, included in the USDA BioPreferred Program, Eaton Vickers 35VQ and 104C, Parker Hannifin Denison HF-1, HF-2, HF-6. Biodegradable (>60% in the 28-day OECD 301B test) and assessed as non-toxic in the marine environment (Fish LC50 >1000 mg/l, Daphnia EC50 >1000 mg/l, Algae EC50 >1000 mg/l). Compatible with NBR1, HNBR and FKM, must not be used in systems with neoprene, butyl rubber or EPDM.
